I think the meals could be healthier…

I think the meals could be healthier and there is a lot of packaging and waste. Normally I enjoy half of what I get.

Very impressed

Honestly nearly every meal we’ve had had been top notch. The ones that miss the mark are only missing it slightly. We’ve been very impressed with the quality of the ingredients and consistency of the delivery.

Poor order fullfillment

I tried Purple Carrot a couple of years ago and then they stopped delivering to my area. They have great recipes, but their order fullfillment department is terrible. My orders are often missing items. I can't find these products in my local grocery store. The whole purpose of buying from them is that I could get unique recipes and ingredients without having to go to the store. Recently, I tried the ready made meals, they gave me a shipping date of almost 3 weeks away. I don't know what's going on with this company. I thought they would have their act together by now. I don't have the patience to deal with them.

The meals are good, but complicated

The meals are good, but complicated to make. I don’t use them fast enough because they will take a lot of time to prepare. After a long tiring day at work, that makes it hard to get motivated to make them. If there is a way to create less steps, it would be helpful. I love the fresh ingredients and variety of vegan meals.

Most of the meals we got were very good …

Most of the meals we got were very tasty except the prepared meals we got last week.
They were bland, didn’t look appetizing and undercooked after following cooking instructions.
Very disappointed

The customer service was great

The customer service was great. I had to throw out a whole box because it was delayed and the ice pack was melted.

I started Purple Carrot because I…

I started Purple Carrot because I wanted to try out vegan eating without having to learn to cook it. I’m single so I ordered the boxed meals, 6 at a time. All meals were good, some of them surprisingly so. I like it a lot.

Great healthy selections

We really like the meal selection and the healthy aspects of Purple Carrot. We’ve tried numerous meal delivery companies and have settled on PC. It usually takes longer to prepare these meals but worthwhile in the end.

More variety

My daughter is in high school and really enjoys receiving the prepared meals box. It's easy for her to grab one from the fridge to take for lunch. She doesn't always have access to a microwave to heat them up and would appreciate more options that could be enjoyed cold. So far, she has really liked the chilled farro antipasto with white beans & caprese-style tofu and chilled three bean salad with braised tofu & herby potato salad.

Also along the lines of more variety is to either not make 6 meals be the minimum order or give us more than 8 options to choose from, especially since several meals repeat the following week(s). We would also enjoy the option of choosing maybe 4 prepared meals and 1 meal kit in a hybrid-style box. My younger daughter really enjoys making the meal kits, but 2 separate subscriptions would be too much food (and too expensive). Thank you.

It is certainly convenient; poor quality produce and lots of plastic packaging

It is certainly convenient, and I like the recipes. I am unhappy with two things, though: (1) The quality of the produce. It is much lower quality that what I would choose for myself from the store. I wonder if it is sitting around in the box in a warehouse too long; (2) The unsustainable packing. There is a lot more plastic than I would like. Both are reasons why I am considering cancelling.

This company is poorly run and very likely a scam due to their total lack of desire to work out any reasonable resolution to problems encountered by customers. They lie and twist the facts to prove the fault is yours and they claim no responsibility.

How easy is it to get a hold of customer service at Purple Carrot?

A:

I was able to reach a customer service rep by chat right away. The answer I received was totally unacceptable. So I reached out to a supervisor by email. I received a response the next day. Claimed I was too stupid to enter me own home address correctly in the order form so my order was misdirected and not their fault. The address they claim I entered was nothing resembling my correct address and was nowhere near me. And yet my account showed my true correct address all while the cs rep claimed I had supplied the wrong information. Total scam!
